Shipping Stuff
We use different logistics companies depending on where you are.
If you’re in Melbourne or Sydney, our specialist beverage couriers will bring the goods. Other capital cities are serviced by Fastway Couriers.
Good old Australia Post looks after the countryside and if you’re in a really remote spot – Far North Queensland, Northern WA or rural NT – then we’ll get in touch to figure out the best route.
We charge a flat $15 fee to ship your goods anywhere in Australia and offer free shipping for orders over $250.
We’ll ship the goods within 24 hours of receiving your order. So if you’re in the capital cities, expect your wine or snacks within a couple of business days.
Unfortunately things don’t move as quickly in the country but we’d expect delivery within a week for the eastern seaboard and within a fortnight for rural postcodes in the other states.
Wherever you are, we’ll email you a delivery timeframe as soon as we’ve got your order.
We’ll send you a confirmation email when we receive your order, to let you know when it will arrive and how you can track it. You can also send us special instructions for delivery. “Please leave my sardines under the tree (away from the goat) next to the porch” would work.
Or we can also ship to your place of work, which is a fine way to make your colleagues jealous.
But if we miss you, our couriers will take the goods back to their local hub and pop by again the next day.
Not at present, but we’re generally helpful people so please drop us a line and we’ll see if we can find a local source for whatever you are after or a way of getting it too you!
Other Stuff
Shoot us an email. Sometimes wine under cork can be faulty and if that’s the case, we’ll happily replace it. Or if you just hate what you ordered, we’ll try and find you something better suited to replace it with.
Absolutely. We work with lots of fantastic independent retailers and lots of our wine goes directly to them.
If you want to know if there’s a retailer in your area, shoot us an email and we’ll make introductions. There are also a few wines that come to us in very limited allocations, so we’ve put links on the product pages to let you know where you can track them down.
It’s where we started. Alimentaria was, and is, primarily a wholesale business, supplying the best Spanish stuff to restaurants, delis and bottle shops. We only started selling online quite recently; you could say Salvador was slow to embrace the digital age…
Drop us a line if you’d like to have a chat about getting Alimentaria goods into your restaurant, bar or bottle shop.
We don’t display our entire range on the website, so if you’ve had one of our products before and it’s not here, shoot us an email and we’ll help you find it.
If it’s a product we don’t import, chances are we know the people who do, so if you had a cracking bottle of booze last time you were at MoVida and want to get some of it for home, email us the details and we’ll send Salvador out to track it down.
You mean Salvador? He’s our mascot. He’s got a bio on the About Us page but essentially he’s a goat who we blame things on.
